Lovely you,
I find myself holding back on sharing my spiritual beliefs and practices due to fear of not being taken seriously. When I was growing up, I quickly realized how important it was, especially for a woman, to be rational and logical in order to be taken seriously. For years and years, masculine energy has dominated societies and it still does. Non-action, stillness, intuition, receiving, even manifesting, have been looked down upon in most societies around the world for a very long time.
I’ve been thinking about the witch hunt and the fear of magic lately. Most women who were killed in the witch hunt were probably not using any magic at all, but the fear of them doing so got so strong that people couldn’t let them live.Â
It’s a different type of power. A power that has been long forgotten by many. It’s the power of sensing, knowing, communicating beyond words and creating outcomes without physical action. It makes me wonder how much more successful we’d be if we let these women and men with powerful feminine energy have a say. Imagine the possibilities we’d open ourselves up to if we valued intuition as much as logic.
As the rational mind became stronger, the people with powerful feminine energy slowly lost their power. We’re not feeling bad about killing women because they could have been witches. We're feeling bad about killing innocent women because magic doesn't exist. We’re not looked down upon for using magic anymore, we’re looked down upon because we believe magic is real.
Most of us know magic from Disney movies. Magic can't be taken seriously when you're only exposed to it through animated figures casting curses to destroy worlds. In reality, it's usually about deepening our relationship with nature and the world around us to create some sort of change in our lives. It could be as simple as writing something down that you want to remove from your life and then burning up that note. That’s a practice of magic. We’re using the fire element to create a shift. We’re also considering the moon’s different phases if we’re doing it on the day of a full moon.
I personally believe a comeback of feminine energy is on the rise. I think more people are starting to realize the value of balancing feminine and masculine energy (regardless of gender). Even though hustle culture is still strong today, more and more people seek to become present and slow down. There's no doubt that meditation and mindfulness are gaining in popularity. Not so long ago, we associated meditation with a monk sitting in the mountains. Now, every other person is meditating for various different reasons.
I’ve seen magic has made its comeback too, but it hasn’t been as big or as strong as other sides of feminine energy. At least not yet. I think there’s still so much fear and shame around the power of feminine energy. Your response is probably quite different if you meet someone who can sense what's going to happen versus someone who studies what's going to happen scientifically. What if we could integrate both of these approaches to life to come up with more holistic solutions though?
It's my hope and belief that the world is becoming more and more open to the power of feminine energy and magic. I don’t know how long this journey will take. Considering how much our consciousness has shifted during the last few years, my hope is that it will happen much sooner than we expect it to.
I so agree! The taking back of feminine power is the one thing giving me hope right now. There is so much wisdom in femininity and in being connected with your body as a woman. I've noticed a trend in my own friend groups of moving away from -- or at least questioning -- things like hormonal birth controls and those that change our cycles/ connections to our bodies. I felt similarly silly talking about all this at first too, but have noticed that most women jump at the chance to partake in the convo when someone else opens the door.
Thank you for this—it’s a conversation we need. For so long, intuition and deep knowing have been dismissed—not for lack of power, but because they hold power. The fear that once fueled the witch hunts still lingers, now showing up as skepticism and shame around anything that doesn’t fit into a rational, measurable box. But balance matters as strength isn’t just in action—it’s also in presence, trust, and listening beyond logic. Maybe the real magic is reclaiming what was never meant to be lost ✨✨💜
